I’m Charles Roux, a photographer, art director and translator.
With a background in both photography and linguistics, my work explores the intersections between narrative, memory, space, and literature.

I graduated top of my class from Icart Photo (valedictorian and top portfolio) and hold a European Bachelor of Photography. I also completed undergraduate and graduate degrees in English and Spanish literature and culture (LLCER), with academic research focusing on the relationship between gastronomy and literature — a theme that continues to shape my artistic projects, especially Fictitious Feasts.

My practice combines long-term personal series with commissioned work in photography, publishing, cultural heritage and art direction. I collaborate with brands, institutions and publishers including: Louis Vuitton, Hennessy, Eric Bompard, Via Gioia, Sony, Ville de Paris, Le Bon Marché, JC Lattès Publishing, Eric Chauvin, the Société des Hôtels Littéraires, Cité Gastronomiques, as well as conduct conferences for museums and universities. 

My photographs have appeared in the press, including Libération, Le Monde, L’Officiel, Peplvm Magazine, Huffington Post, Konbini, and Culture V. 

My work has been exhibited in France and internationally : Hôtels Littéraires (Paris, Rouen, Clermont-Ferrand), Musée des arts de la table (Samadet), Musée François Pompon (Saulieu), Center for Fine Art Photography (Fort Collins, USA), Galleria La Volpe (Milan, Italy), Head On Festival (Sydney, Australia), and FoodPhoto Festival (Vejle, Denmark).
